Performing Arts and Theatre

I also enjoyed the article but was very disappointed that Commerce Street Theater (located between Mrs. Joy's and next to the Art Alley) was never mentioned as well. An all volunteer theater located in one of the historic warehouses provides a unique, intimate, black box style theater. Additionally, Commerce Street Theater's lobby is home to the downtown location of Finding Art Gallery, with local artists works on display for enjoyment and purchase. Patrons can come to a production, enjoy the artists' displays, partake of refreshments, socialize with and meet fellow patrons for a wonderful time .

Arts

I enjoyed your article about Lynchburg and appreciate your featuring our revitalized Downtown. I am wondering, however, why our Academy Center of the Arts was not included in the Arts section? Its Historic Theatre hosts live national acts, the Gallery showcases both local and national arts, and the Center focuses on community engagement, education, outreach, and inclusion.
