summermusicfest_7/20
This year’s program, Vienna, will explore four centuries of Viennese music and art. Of course, there will be the music one would expect to hear (works by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, etc.), but there will also be plenty of unexpected treasures. The Festival will explore different aspects of Vienna, using a variety of events to delve into the art, architecture and overall history of this great city. Activities include orchestra and chamber music concerts; a series of informal seminars; cooking classes; pops concerts; a film festival; wine tastings; coffee concerts; a 5K Walk/Run; programming for children; nature hikes – more than 200 events in all, many of which are free. A full schedule of events and ticket and accommodation information can be found at www.wintergreenperformingarts.org. Located in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Wintergreen Performing Arts, Inc., is a non-profit organization that produces a high-quality summer music festival featuring symphonic and chamber concerts, as well as other performing arts programs throughout the year.
