The event is part of the veterans’ preparations for the six-day, 350-mile bicycle “Ride 2 Recovery Memorial Challenge,” sponsored by UnitedHealthcare. Ride 2 Recovery, a 501(c)3, helps injured veterans improve their health and wellness through individual and group cycling. Cycling has proven to be a catalyst in the recovery process by providing a new physical challenge while concurrently helping to cope with the mental challenges. The Memorial Challenge ride will begin on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, at 12 p.m. at Ft. Meyer, Va. and end on Saturday, June 4 in Virginia Beach, Va.
