From 2-3:30pm the World Jam Club, comprised of a classically trained violinist from Bolivia, a classical guitarist from the Southern U.S and a world music percussionist from Southeast Washington, D.C., will take the stage. World Jam Club consists of Peter Fields on classical guitar, Kevin Powell and Bruno Lucini on Afro-Latin percussion, and a trio of talented young string players from Irish and Bolivian backgrounds on viola, violin and cello. Their repertoire consists of award winning compositions by World Jam Club founder guitarist Peter Fields and masterpieces of Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music. Along with some of today’s contemporary music, World Jam Club mixes it up and brings something new to every performance!
Then from 4:00-5:00pm come listen to The U.S. Army Band Downrange, the premier pop/variety band of the U.S. Army, as they rocks out on the Workhouse Quad! This band will entertain you with a variety of music from the current rock, pop, R&B, and country charts, as well as patriotic classics and their own original tunes! You will not want to miss the Downrange, as they return to the Workhouse to celebrate and conclude a wonderful first season of the “Stars on Sunday” concert series! Grab your blankets or chairs, and venture out for an afternoon of entertainment. Picnics welcomed, no alcohol please.
