Kate Klise’s latest book for young readers, Grounded, was named a Blue Ribbon Best Books
of 2010 by the Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books. Kate and her sister, M. Sarah
Klise, an illustrator, have been collaborating on books for over 20 years. Their collaborations include the popular Regarding the … series, Imagine Harry, Dying to Meet You, and Stand Straight, Ella Kate.
Klise will visit schools in the City of Richmond, Henrico County, Chesterfield County, and at
Collegiate School. In addition to her school visits, the students will participate in Chat ‘n’
Chew literary circles regarding her novels in preparation for her visit. In this financially
challenging time for our local school districts, the Junior League of Richmond has been able
to provide nearly 400 of Klise’s books for young readers in elementary and middle school.
