Enjoy historic Batteaus, free docent tours of Battlefield Park and boat tours through the Great Bridge Locks , demonstrations on a Chesapeake Fire Department Fire Engine and Fire Boat, sheep shearing, beekeeping, spinning, soap making, candle-rolling, doll making, pottery, glassblowing, wood-carving, jewelry, jams, quilting, basketry, shaker boxes, storytelling, kettle corn, fine art, sewing, lamb cuisine, knitting, fiber arts, live music, and so much more! Take your family on an educational scavenger hunt and show your completed form to be entered into a raffle to win a pizza lunch for your child's entire classroom sponsored by Spaghetti Eddie's! Free shuttle service compliments of the Chesapeake Fire Department and Chesapeake Emergency Response Team. History is on the move in Virginia as the Civil War 150 HistoryMobile rolls into Chesapeake, VA for a 3-day visit Friday, Saturday, & Sunday October 10-12, 2014.
The exhibit, an initiative of the Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission, will be located at the Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways Park (1775 Historic Way, Chesapeake, VA 23320) and will be open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM. Admission to the HistoryMobile is free.
