Looks carefree, doesn't it? And it was ... until the 1921 fire that destroyed the hotel. Rebuilt in 1928, the Chamberlin is now a luxury retirement community.

And now is the time of year when so many of us feel the pull toward the ocean, drawn by the idea of sand and sun ... and surf ’n’ turf feasts, chasing ghost crabs at night, classic architecture, and memories of days gone by.
