One-of-a-kind antiques, wine tasting and pancakes topped with freshly-grown peaches. Sounds like a Virginia weekend to us. It’s so close to Friday we can taste it, so go ahead and start making your plans.
Step it Up
August 5-6, Blacksburg
For the 36th year, the streets of Downtown Blacksburg will shut down to make room for Steppin’ Out, a festival featuring everything from jewelry and pottery to basketry and textiles. Downtown merchants will also hold clearance sidewalk sales, and local restaurants will provide all the festival fare your heart desires. The event kicks off at 10:00 a.m. on Friday and runs through 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. BlacksburgSteppinOut.com
August 6, Nellysford
It’s blackberry pickin’ time, and what better way to celebrate than with a festival? Hill Top Berry Farm & Winery will hold its 23rd annual Blackberry Harvest and Music Festival, an all-day event beginning at 9:00 a.m. (because it’s never too early for wine, right?) featuring local music, barbecue and, of course, wine tastings. Tickets $10 per adult 21 and up. HillTopBerryWine.com/event-page
All That Glitters
August 6-7, Virginia Beach
More than 100 dealers will come together this weekend for the Virginia Jewelry, Art & Antiques Show at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, hosted by show organizer The Big Flea & Antiques Market.
