The 22nd Annual Virginia Wine & Garlic Festival will be held on Saturday, October 13, and Sunday, October 14, 2012, from 10 am to 5 pm each day. The event is held on the grounds of Rebec Vineyards in picturesque Amherst County. Centrally located on Route 29 between Charlottesville and Lynchburg, Rebec is an easy drive from Washington or Richmond.
This event has built in popularity over the years, and is now "The Southeast's Largest Harvest Festival". Tastings are offered by eight regional wineries, and the festivities includes 150 unique vendors to include specialty foods, jewelers, artists, and of course, garlic growers! Adults dance to the live music and the kids love the magic shows, which are all part of the 5 stages of live entertainment access included in the ticket price. Garlic Cook-Off Contest and Garlic Queen and Jr. Queen contests are traditional crowd pleasers. Children’s activities includes a petting zoo, clowns and face painting.
