    Workshops with Val Cushing

In conjunction with the exhibition, the Workhouse will offer workshops for all skill levels led by Mr. Cushing entitled, Finding One's Path in Clay. The workshops will be held in Gallery Building W-8 on Saturday, October 23 and Sunday, October 24 from 10am-4pm. During the weekend, he will demonstrate and discuss the process of working with clay, and learning to develop a methodology about how to ideate and find self direction with your own work. Focus will be on using the potter's wheel as a tool and vehicle for expression and incorporating one's own ideas and interpretation of the world around us into the work. Workshop participants should plan to participate in group discussions, bring a sketch book and a couple examples of work (optional). Participants can register online. Space is limited, early registration is encouraged.
