Tom Tom’s focus on music, arts, entertainment and innovation continues on Saturday, April 12th in another day of free back-to-back events, expos, and concerts. The historic open-air farmers market will pair with talks, expos, and workshops highlighting the farm-to-table movement, while the Picnic Day in Lee Park will offer families a chance to hang out and enjoy the best of central Virginia’s food trucks.
Panels on technology, education, and social entrepreneurship will look at new developments in these fields, while local innovators will share the global impacts of their efforts through punchy Tom Talks.
To please the ears, dozens of bands will play at multiple venues, culminating in a New Orleans flavored Jazz Fest at Fellini’s #9; and to please the eyes, a Juried Multi-State Arts and Crafts Fair will be held, in addition to free workshops in screenprinting. Other artistic highlights will include a Pop Up Parking Space competition, where teams of designers will compete to repurpose downtown parking spaces in imaginative ways.
