The Chautauqua Festival in Wytheville, Virginia is an eight day family oriented arts and music festival presented each year starting the third Saturday of June. The Saturday through Saturday festivities are conducted in and around Elizabeth Brown Park, just a few blocks south of the heart of downtown and largely at no cost to the festival goer. In its 30th year, it has become an event anticipated all year long by the growing throng of fans locally and across the region.
The Festival kicks off with the balloon glow the evening of Friday, June 15 at the Wytheville Community College Campus. The first flight of the Hot Air Balloon Ralley kicks things off at 6 AM Saturday morning and the festivities push into full gear with a parade through downtown Saturday morning at 10 AM.

Musicians, clowns, and actors perform throughout the park and on the upper and lower stages. And plan on eating a meal or two here, too, served up by one of the dozens of fabulous food vendors.
