This special evening features visits to all the historic homes on the grounds of Piney Grove at Southall’s Plantation, including interior “TOURS-BY-THE OWNERS” of Piney Grove-1790, Ashland-1835 and Ladysmith-1857, as well as exterior visits to Dower Quarter-1830 and Duck Church-1917. You will hear the Legend of Rippons Run, learn of the Beechwood Tragedy and enjoy a graveside reading at the Harwood Family Children’s Cemetery. The tour concludes with hot cider and homemade cookies served by a roaring fire where you will learn of ghost stories from other nearby plantations. Tour dates are September 4, 11, 18 and 25, and October 2, 9, 16, 23, 29 (5-7 p.m. on this date only) and 30. The 2-hour guided tour is offered from 3-5 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
