Spend an evening with one of Virginia's finest landscape painters, Artist Jos Biviano as he celebrates the 19th century Hudson River and Luminist Schools. Jos paintings of 'Luminism' push the viewer for an emotional response. He seeks to portray the land as God made it, and before Man spoiled it. Jos's new, abstracted inner landscape paintings are bathed in light and suggest landscape through abstracted layers of luminosity, yet they still carry the weight of our recognition of the environment. His earlier paintings are marked by forceful and dramatic displays of light & shadow, intense color, & J.M.W. Turner-like atmospheric effects. Both styles will be available. Explains Jos of his more modern paintings, "They're abstract works that are still referential and highly diaphanous in true Neo-Luminist form." Jos will speak on Opening Night of the differences between the two styles. For more information contact Bella Arte Gallery.
