Guests enjoy bluegrass music, delicious barbecue and beautiful views of the James River Wednesday, Sept. 26 on Jamestown Island during the ShinDIG at Jamestown. The event benefits the Jamestown Rediscovery Project of Historic Jamestowne.
The Who Ever Shows Up Band performs at the Dale House Café on Jamestown Island. One of the featured musicians in the Williamsburg-based band includes archaeology director Bill Kelso on banjo. The band also comprises Doug Burgoyne, guitar; Jack Cowardin, fiddle; Rob Foos, dobro; Bobby Hornsby, bass; Rennie Howard, banjo; Ellen Kelso, bass; and Steve Robertson, guitar.
The barbecue dinner is provided by Carrot Tree Kitchens. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Seating will be provided. No coolers will be allowed. The event will be held rain or shine.
Tickets are $27 per person and include the barbecue dinner. Tickets must be purchased in advance online at www.historicjamestowne.org. An e-mail confirmation will be sent after the ticket purchase is made. Tickets will not be mailed to participants. There will be no refunds unless the concert is cancelled by Preservation Virginia.
