Since its Broadway debut Hamilton: An American Musical has been an international phenomenon, reaching people far and wide. From the characters to the costumes to the songs, it has caused fans and critics to see Broadway musicals in a whole new light. Hamilton has been called a perfect collision of live theater and pop culture.
You may not be able to get tickets to Hamilton, but on October 21 Riverviews Artspace will offer the next best thing: The screening of PBS’s Hamilton’s America, a behind-the-scenes documentary about Lin-Manuel Miranda’s landmark musical, directed by Alex Horwitz.
This event is free to the public and made possible through an Arts & Cultural Grant by the City of Lynchburg and in partnership with Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest.

It is also well documented that James Madison turned against Alexander Hamilton, in spite of being his co-author of The Federalist. Join the conversation up close and personal as both Virginia Gentlemen speak of their complex relationship with Mr. Alexander Hamilton in anticipation to the documentary. Both Gentlemen will view the screening in your company and share final thoughts post film.
