Richmond International Film Festival (RIFF) brings more than 120 international cutting edge films to RVA, plus industry panels, Q&A's, live musical performances, red carpet awards, and entertainment mixers that usher the spirit of Hollywood into Virginia’s Bowtie Movieland/Criterion, the Virginia Historical Society, and the historic Byrd Theatre, a venue touted by USA Today as “one of the top 10 places to still see a movie in splendor in the United States.” It’s a one-of-a-kind festival honoring some of the most singularly entertaining projects on the international film scene.
With more than 25 countries represented, the RIFF Official Selection consists of a diverse range of films (features and shorts), music videos, and screenplays across all genres — all while providing a fun atmosphere for film enthusiasts and patrons and an excellent networking platform for talent from around the globe. Official Selection filmmakers and writers attend festival week for their Richmond premiere, and are competing for top award honors with the Audience and Grand Jury.
New this year, RIFF expands to bring the first annual one-day creative conference, the FLOW Collective. FLOW is an inspirational series that includes engaging talks from prominent artists, individuals, and heads of industry, along with creative think tanks, breakout sessions and panels incorporating the concept of creative flow and how to achieve it across a variety of fields and disciplines. FLOW takes place during festival week, Saturday Feb 28th, 2015 11:00am-6:00pm.
Bowtie Movieland and Criterion will host 44 films over the course of four days. There will also be showings at the Byrd Theatre and the Virginia Historical Society. Please visit rvafilmfestival.com for more information on purchasing tickets, and a complete 2015 screening and event schedule.
