The first annual Red, White & Beagle fundraiser will take place at River Farm in Alexandria, VA on Saturday, July 25. This event, which will include a silent auction and dinner, will benefit the Beagle Freedom Project, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to give beagles and other animals used in laboratory testing a chance at life after research.
Red, White & Beagle is hosted by what has come to be known as the Beagle Freedom Project's DC7--a group of fosters and adopters who brought home 7 beagles from a rescue in Virginia in July 2013. You may remember seeing stories (or can view press articles and videos below) of the DC7 release after these 7 beagles, named after our Founding Fathers, were released. They had all spent their whole lives in research labs and had never walked on grass, marked a fire hydrant or played in a park! They are now living all around the East Coast, and it's amazing the progress they've made in less than two years.
