The Lorton Arts Foundation has established in the Workhouse the region's most distinctive cultural arts center. From Prison to Arts Center: 100 Years at the Workhouse will take guests on an unforgettable century-long journey that highlights the Workhouse's rich past and celebrates its exciting new presence. The public is invited to attend the opening reception for the exhibition on Sunday, August 22, from 2-4pm.

As a special part of this exhibition, the community is invited to the Centennial Celebration of the Workhouse on September 4. The day will feature the music of "Classical WETA Players Brass Quintet" and "Chuck ‘Go-Go' Brown", along with a campus-wide open house.

From former correctional facility, to thriving, one-of-a-kind arts community, the Workhouse has a history full of significant milestones.
