Established in 1892, the Norfolk SPCA is one of the oldest animal welfare organizations in the country. Originally founded because of concerns about the mistreatment of workhorses, the Norfolk SPCA now shelters, treats, rehabilitates and re-homes household companion animals throughout Hampton Roads. The Norfolk SPCA is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that ensures that every healthy, adoptable animal finds a loving home and places hundreds of animals on a yearly basis.
