HENRICO CENTER FOR THE ARTS SENIOR SHOW - Mary Scurlock guides her students through the many facets of art and the culmination of this work is the senior show at Art Works. The opening reception is May 27th from 7-10 p.m.. The exhibit will be in the Jane Sandelin Gallery through June 6, 2016.
ICONIC: 2016 Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Senior Art Exhibition - Jeff Hall provides the inspiration and guidance for the visual art students at Maggie L. Walker where he supports a broad range of experiences in both two and three dimensions and a wide variety of media. The students present their work at a reception on June 10th (6 pm – 9 pm). The show continues through June 19th. The exhibit will be in the Jane Sandelin Gallery.
Quirk's on Paper; How Life Influences Art by Glenda M. Creamer - Glenda Creamer paints abstract paintings, but also makes many drawings from life, whether at home or on an outing. She feels the practice of making these drawings helps to make her paintings stronger. This exhibited in the Centre Gallery, East.
Don't be Afraid It’s Only Pixels by Waverly Clark Fitch - Waverly Clark Fitch creates digital paintings, incorporates found objects and constructs frames to augment the theme for each piece of artwork. This exhibit will be in the Centre Gallery, West.
The Artistic Conquests of Duane L. West - Duane West has experienced and mastered many medium; oil, acrylic, pen and ink, lampworking and sand painting. Having lived with a large Native American population out West, and growing up with ranch-life he connects to western and native themes as seen in his sand sculptures, which consist of many layers of sand and glue creating free-standing scenes. This exhibit will be in the Skylight Gallery
MAY 2016 ALL MEDIA ART SHOW - This exhibit is a focal point of all Art Works’ openings. It is a juried show with cash prizes and is open to all artists and all mediums. The juror is Jeff Hall. Call for Entries is on May 20 and 21, 2016 at Art Works.
ART WORKS is a full service art center where the public can see and buy art 6 days a week, rent space for special events and see artists at work.
We represent over 100 Virginia artists and present national and international artists in monthly shows. There are 75 studios and 5 galleries at ART WORKS. The public is invited to our monthly all-media, juried art shows, the 4th Friday of each month and are encouraged to participate in our programs, shows and events.
ART WORKS is involved in community programs, is a venue for many bridal receptions, fundraisers, parties and meetings. Our on-site staff lends our expertise to these events.
