KER ART AND MARITIME FESTIVAL
OCTOBER 16 – 17, 2015
The Eastern Shore of Virginia Historical Society is so excited to announce Ker Art and the Maritime Exhibit. This event will be held on the lawn at Ker Place October 16 and 17. On Friday the 16th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm there will be a preview cocktail party; tickets are available for $15 and can be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com or at the event. Guests will be given the opportunity to view the show and purchase art before it opens to the public.
On Saturday, October 17 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, the show will open to the public for free admission. The art show features works of over 28 artists, lectures on the restoration of the Annie C., and an exhibit of photographic prints titled "...On the Water: As Seen Through the Lens of Dr. Robertson". This beautiful black and white exhibit documents the local boating history during the 30’s to 70’s. All boat builders are encouraged to display their “shore built” or restored boats on the lawn at Ker place.
Ker Art and the Maritime Exhibit promises to be a wonderful family event, with food, local entertainment by Poundnet and the drawing for the Bevin’s Skiff. Come spend the day with us and share your passion for all things “Shore Made”. For more information, visit www.shorehistory.org/events/
