Teen Driving Solutions School invites students and parents to attend its signature Safe Teen Driver Course. The two-day intensive class provides teens with a mix of behind-the-wheel and mental training to improve their vehicle control skills in a structured and safe setting.
Parents, who participate in the program along with their teen, are connected with a licensed relationship and communication expert to improve the effectiveness of their coaching methods. They also get behind the wheel themselves, hearing the instruction their teen received so that they can continue those learnings when back home.
The TDSS Safe Teen Driver Course expands on traditional driver’s test and driver’s ed curriculum with a more in-depth, safety-focused approach. For example, during the course, students learn how to physically control a car in a variety of potentially life-threatening situations, such as a tire dropping from the pavement or tires skidding. By working through possible real-life occurrences, TDSS gives teens the confidence and skills they need to keep control of a vehicle and stay safe on the roads.
Registration is open now at www.teendrivingsolutions.org. Teens 15 and older with a learner's permit or driver’s license and who have a minimum of 20 hours supervised behind-the-wheel experience are eligible to participate. Classes cost $595, which includes both parent and teen participation.
The full 2015 schedule of TDSS Safe Teen Driver Courses includes the following weekends:
• May 30-31
• June 20-21
• July 18-19
• Oct. 3-4
• Nov. 7-8
