Set in the beautiful Crystal Ballroom of the Hotel Roanoke, the History Museum of Western Virginia welcomes Pulitzer Prize winning author and editor Jon Meacham as the keynote speaker for our annual History Is Served Luncheon.
Mr. Meacham's insightful and thought-provoking perspectives on history and our world today will enlighten and entertain us. Among his many accomplishments, from 2006 until recently, Mr. Meacham was editor of Newsweek magazine. In 2009, he won the Pulitzer Prize for his 2008 book, “American Lion, Andrew Jackson in the White House.” With broadcast journalist Alison Stewart, he co-anchors the popular Need To Know, a new weekly primetime news and public affairs on public television produced by WNET in New York (shown locally on Blue Ridge Public TV on Friday nights at 8 p.m.)
The luncheon will include a three course, served meal, cash bar and silent auction of unique gifts and experiences.
