Runners will enjoy a challenging 8K course and gorgeous fall scenery while helping to solve the problem of homelessness at the second annual DrumStix Dash. The race will take place Saturday, November 27 at 9 a.m. in Burke Lake Park, 7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station, Virginia.
The race benefits Housing and Community Services of Northern Virginia (HCSNV), a nonprofit agency dedicated to helping Northern Virginians stay in their homes. HCSNV offers financially-challenged homeowners and renters services that include budget counseling, affordable housing search, crisis intervention, emergency financial assistance and foreclosure prevention assistance.
The entire family is invited to participate in this event. In addition to the 8K course, a one-mile family fun run will also be held. Prizes will be awarded to the top three overall and first three age-group winners in the 8K. All 8K participants receive an official race t-shirt and all of the participants in the one-miler will receive a commemorative medal.
Once again, the DrumStix Dash 8K has teamed up with ActiveTrainer coaches to provide training plans specifically for this race. Athletes of all levels receive customized training plans, an online calendar, reporting tools, training calculators, maps, daily e-mails, and much more!
