“A History” is a new contemporary dance work directed by Bebe Miller with long-time collaborators Angie Hauser, Darrell Jones, and Talvin Wilks. An intimate and compelling evening-length duet for Hauser and Jones with video by Lily Skove, “A History” probes their 10-year creative partnership and the collision of their internal processes as dancers, inviting the audience into the world of dance-making. “A History” is both the evidence and the performance of a creative process. Known for both virtuosity and humanity, Miller’s work has been produced at major dance centers throughout the U.S. and abroad. She has received four Bessie Awards, fellowships from the John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, New York Foundation for the Arts, the Ohio Arts Council, and is a United States Artists Ford Fellow. Currently a Full Professor in Dance at The Ohio State University, Miller was named a Doris Duke Artist in April 2012, and is one of only 21 of America’s most vital and productive performing artists in contemporary dance, jazz, theatre and multidisciplinary work so honored.
