We can't wait until 4th Friday in October! The October 28th reception is only three days from Halloween--so come in costume. There will be costume-prizes, an artful scavenger "trick or treat" hunt in the studios and music by Ella Minnopee and Dave Brown. Linda Bronski's show, Between Darkness and Light, (perfect for Halloween) will continue in the main gallery. The All Media Show will include a category and special section: "Scared the Bejesus out of me". Plus four solo shows by Richmond artists open. Between Darkness and Light by Linda M. Bronski - A space in time or a time in place, from the alpha to the omega, the gray area, twilight, dawn. This is how Linda M. Bronski describes her art. She says: It is this in between place and what happens there that commands my attention and ignites my imagination. This exhibit is the artist’s exploration of the inner human condition. She uses painting as the language to capture experiences along her journey, in the still of the night or with a new sunrise. This exhibit will be in the Jane Sandelin Gallery.
Libby Clark Recent Works - Libby Clark is a professional photographer. In this exhibit, she loves taking pictures of the endless magical scenes she finds in nature. Her exhibit will be in the Centre Gallery, East.
Hands On by Anne B. Burnley - This exhibit is a collection of paintings, collages, watercolors featuring the James River and Richmond Virginia skyline and will be on display in the Centre Gallery, West.
WTF by Deshia Williams - W T F! That was artist Deshia Williams’ horrified and brokenhearted reaction to the murder of 49 innocent people in the Orlando’s Pulse Night Club. Gunned down in their safe space simply for being themselves, following their hearts and dancing to their own rhythms. And now their families, friends and scores of others across the U.S. are left with a ragged pit of grief, rage and bitterness in their guts. a stranger chose to kill those he didn’t understand and so now Deshia Williams is trying to process her grief through her craft. The exhibit will be in the Skylight Gallery.
Connie Mahone Recent Works - Connie Mahone’s paintings, on display in the Corner Gallery create a vision of life through her color pallet.
October 2016 ALL MEDIA ART SHOW - This exhibit is a focal point of all Art Works’ openings. This is a juried show with cash prizes and is open to all artists and all mediums. The juror is Chris Semtner, painter, writer and curator of the Poe Museum in Richmond. Call for Entries is on October 21 and 22, 2016 at Art Works.
