Virginia Living magazine, a glossy, bimonthly magazine published in Richmond, is looking for a new Creative Services Director. Virginia Living is an oversize format magazine that produces a wide variety of stories every issue--longish feature articles, profiles, interviews, along with regular food, home, garden, art and book stories, and more.

The ideal candidate should have a strong and varied design portfolio, possess the technical and organizational skills of a production manager, and be able to drive the advertising design direction for the magazine, website and ancillary material. Solid graphic design skills should be married with technical savvy and the strong ability to multi-task, as this position wears many hats.

Requirements include a minimum of three years in a graphic designer or production role--preferably with a publication--expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite, proficiency in HTML and CSS.

Reports to the Publisher & Owner, John-Lawrence Smith

Hours: 8:30 to 5:30, M-F and more as needed. 8:30 to 5:30 Saturday and Sunday on 6 "Layout Weekends" per year (1 hour comp time earned per 1 hour worked on these weekends.)
