This dry rub is a perfect inexpensive gift you can make for your steak-loving dad. It's easy to make and stores well in an airtight container.

It was inspired by the desire to take the grilled steak flavor to a slightly higher level. The sugar in the recipe adds the slightest sweetness to the grilled meat which enhances the meats natural flavor profile.

So basic, yet so gratifying, share this one with dad on Father's Day. Perfect with a thick cut ribeye!

Rosemary Dry Rub for Steaks

1 cup kosher salt

¾ cup ground black pepper

½ cup sugar

1 tablespoon red pepper flakes

½ cup chopped rosemary

-mix all ingredients and store in air tight container

Rub liberally on any cut of steak, then pan roast or grill and enjoy!

Note: since there is sugar in the dry rub, the meat will caramelize sooner.
