In recognition of his courage in battling cancer, 14-year-old Ben Millefolie from Chesterfield County has been chosen to represent Virginia for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champions Across America program. Ben was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia just before his 10th birthday and underwent 25 months of treatment at Children’s Hospital of Richmond. “The Champions Program allows us to celebrate the amazing work that happens at [our] hospitals,” says Rachel Bruni, Director of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at the Children’s Hospital Foundation. In October, Ben and his fellow winners from around the country will travel to D.C. to meet with representatives and share their stories, and then go on to Orlando, Florida for some fun.
